Curious Case of Benjamin Button

interesting movie with great direction and play of the story. i can't think of a better way to present this story from the way the director David Fincher had done incredibly believable.

to be honest the movie can be a little plain as you watch along, i broke it down into 3 parts to watch because it's a little dry. but it still managed to kept me on till the movie finished eventually.

it did keep me asking, how better will i direct the story to make it less dry and more engaging. but i guess it will be amateurish for me to even try to suggest any alternative ways of producing the pictures to an oscar nominated director. hehe.

anyway there are a few questions that should keep you engaged on the movie and curious in finding out more.

what happens when the clock goes in reverse motion?

what happens when your lover is growing younger and younger as you age?

what happens when you give birth to a freak baby that is born with an 80year old body?

what happens if you are the freak baby or the freak baby's dad?

i think it's pretty interesting to see the idea of raising a baby and little child from the old folks' home. it raises a sense of appreciation for life.

can you imagine yourself watching across the road a bunch of kids at your age playing and have great fun while you can only watch and not even get an inch closer?

seeing that and being told that you are weird and that you are destined to be alone, will you dare to love someone and expect to be loved by someone? will you be confident enough to live your life the way you want?

do you even know what you want for yourself when you know you are viewed so differently from the packs?

put yourself in the shoes of the main actor and then see if you'll live any better than the actor in the movie. that's what makes the movie worth watching. it keeps you thinking and reevaluating your life.

would you even try to work and try hard to be accepted by the society and just to be a part of the small or big family outside your comfort zone when you know you are a freak to the outside world? it's really interesting to see benjamin stepping up to a job that strangers next to him warned him against, and most importantly determined and boldly.

had you imagined how little a human actually needs to be willing to work hard in life?

it is the social conditions and the man-made temptations that eventually deviates man's living purposes.

think again, would you rather live for money and power or live for love and recognition?

in this movie, i won't say it's particularly romance-filled because it really isn't and it will be misleading if i ask you to watch it for the love story it tells.

however there's one part of the movie that i had been aspiring long ago. the idea of 2 lovers living in their bird nest freely and simply. having most of their time spent in bed rolling, chatting, playing, running after each other around in the small dwelling compound, with paints, dirty with the paints in the face and shirts and yet still laughing all the way through.. isn't that beautiful?

i would add more spices to the lovers' bird nest though. we'll occasionally handwash the dirty laundry together while we play with water.. which we all know will end the pair of lovers under the same shower.. cool and fun!

experimenting with foods and your own creative recipes and at the end of the day slowly enjoying the moments of feeding your lover with your raw hands with the not-so-fine food you cooked. the interesting part isn't the food but the moment you watch your lover in the eyes as you feed her or him.

and the moment you lie next to her in bed trying to read a book or read her a bedtime story.. she's not listening attentively but kissing you everywhere possible.. tickling you as you are trying to be an adult and end up chasing after each other around the living space again.

the entire idea of living life according to your own clock. eating whenever you feel like eating, never sleeping at the same time of the day but anytime you feel like it, even staying up whole night long when you feel like it..

dancing in the bed alongside the music, with your lover..

watch it my friend. if you are free enough to take your time to watch the life of someone with different perspective. go watch Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

3 stars i'll rate =)

sweet..
