Slumdog millionaire
to be honest, i am a skeptic at first before i watch this bollywood production.
and i am totally impressed.
unlike the conventional bollywood films that features 3 hours of running time with little meaning, this movie is a must watch if you are keen to have a feel of the indian lifestyle and culture. personally i think it's worth an oscar.
it's a thrill ride and the best part about it is you don't expect it to thrill you and yet you'll get hooked up to the movie once you follow the beginning of the movie.
it's quite a good technique to use the Who Wants to be A Millionaire reality show to make your heart pound a little steadier as you follow through the movie. i think it's cool.
and the visual experience you get by watching the life a typical indian slumdog goes through, it's heartfelt. and that's where it scores the most. and i would have to say that it's a good pick the director picked the young boy actor for Jamal. cause he's an adorable little kid with the genuine innocence felt from his big bright eyes. haha.
Latika (the female lead actress) in the adolescent is beautiful too.
another thing i didn't expect and genuinely impressed me is the soundtrack and the atypical bollywood songs used in the movie. i love the songs very much. guess there's something about the indian culture that is pretty appreciable.
and there is proves again all cultures and heritages have something unique that's valuable. =)
do watch the movie. trust me it's worth watching. i would rate it a 4 star out of 5. not perfect but more than enough. =)
