Soup of The Day

it's been 5 days i started working with Prajna Advisors Sdn Bhd which is a wisdom-based financial planning company, i must say it is probably the most vigorous soul searching and personal development training i'd undergone over my 24 years living.

coupled with some inspiring self help books i'd read recently and the personal coaching i was given in this short span of one week i learned so much about my weaknesses and my strengths, about life, about the formula to success in life, and the step-by-step formula to building the right disciplines to a successful life!

before that i do have a confession to make. i learned from the people around me that i had been very self centered over the years. and it is very true indeed, while there was no specific goals or real satisfaction i taste in life not knowing what i want, i was just obsessed with wanting to find out everything i love at first sight that i completely lost track of the people around me who gave me so much unconditionally. i lived in my own delusion of trying the save the world when i failed to even try to love or care for the people who are closest to me! and i failed to live real, i was and still am afraid to accept my dominant identity and am afraid of opening up myself because i fear being rejected for being myself. and i was greedy, i wanted everything so i don't know how to choose what to forgo to get what i truly want in life.

psychologists generally categorized people into 5 main types of personalities/ desires:

openness/ creativity/ flexibility
win/ recognition
love/ appreciation
peace/ simplicity
detail/ organization

it's natural for a person to be dominant in 1 to 3 of the 5 personalities/ desires. but i possess almost all 5 or at least 4 of them. if you noticed, some of the personality types are at the expense of the other. for instance, if you want to win all the time, there is high chances you will have conflict with some people who also want to win and get recognition. if you want fame and popularity you are potentially pissing off somebody who wants as much of that as you do. you can't please everyone. you gotta choose who and what is your priority and be prepared to forgo some other things in order to LIVE. one who possess all 4 or more of the 5 personalities is highly stressful because he or she cannot even make up his mind for any simple scenarios in life! living with complicated multipersonality is the last thing that could ease you into any action.

weaknesses:
i was a pessimist. i fear before i take action rather than capitalize on my desires and take the risk by taking actions! i fret the risks of rejection, failures, lost of security and losing.
i am lazy. and everybody is when they are not passionate about what they do!
i don't have discipline. i did not learn up discipline, i did not understand the real reason or motive behind practicing them and i hate to be disciplined! who likes discipline? tell me? it's just a necessity or prerequisite to achieving the ends we desire.

i don't like and don't own up to commitments and responsibilities. without which success will never come! commitments and responsibilities are the price to pay to obtain SUCCESS!

strengths:
i am good at analyzing, good at learning most subject matters, good at helping others learn, somehow instinctively good at feeling people, can communicate okay well in main languages, strong subconscious, and most importantly i am still a faithful BELIEVER of my own goal in life --- TO HELP PEOPLE DISCOVER THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL AND LIVE THEIR LIVES TO THE FULLEST.

2 quotes particularly inspired me today.

1) a person's ability to achieve more is directly proportional to his or her ABILITY TO ASK FOR HELP.
- and guess what? people are generally willing to give and help because that is the thing that really makes us feel good about ourselves! provided we are not corrupted by the "negatives" in life. and please do not fret putting down your ego and ask for advices because that is how you learn more and faster from others, it's a win-win situation. people love offering advices and we love learning!

2) STRENGTH LIES IN DIFFERENCES, NOT IN SIMILARITIES.

as for the success formula, i would succinctly summarize it this way. SUCCESS IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE AMOUNT YOU GIVE VOLUNTARILY. GIVING includes work, thinking hard out of the box, solving the real problems in the community, the willingness to take less voluntarily or sacrifice for the betterment of the society we all live in as one, and last but not least, LOVE and CARE genuinely for others.

as for the step-by-step method to building the right disciplines, there is proper sales monitoring report system i learned from sales training lessons taught by Edmund from Prajna which can be amended to apply to any individuals with any goals in life.

i hope you are inspired after reading what i blog here. i always believe that confession of our mistakes or being brutally honest with our thoughts is what makes us human and is what makes us able to reach out to others.

my next blog will be on ethical dilemmas. still under progress hehe. happy sharing. hope to hear from you too. ^_^
